I need someone to attend one of these courses and receive a certificate of some sort to say that he has attended and is in some way qualified to be a H&E officer.
Does anyone have any experience of this and who to contact?
Cheers.

if its for a site role i would suggest it to be more cost effective to have all your guys trained in the basics - risk assessment, manual handling etc. all the usual bumf. then just nominate the brightest as the person responsbile for HSE and give him a yellow hat. set up a system for risk reporting and control. easy peasy.

if it's for policy / office based role then it depends where you see this role being on the scale from compentent > arse covering. most companies in the uae will have the HSE officer himself to the right of that scale, with the expat management doing most of the policy and control themselves as they are far more competent.

Thanks gents, it's appreciated. the main reason for doing it is for the comfort of our clients. Having said that, it's good to know and keeps us thinking about such matters, as we really don't want any issues whilst on-site.

Just to be able to say that we have a H&S officer on-site (that meets the UAE's requirements) at all times is good enough, I guess.
