Royal Jordanian Automobile Museum

I was in Amman for a wedding this week and had an hour to kill before my flight home, so had a poke around the King Hussein car collection. I wasn’t expecting much, but it’s actually really nicely done with a great collection of cars arranged in date order, telling the story of significant events in the country’s history and showing the cars of the time and how they were involved. Some pics of the more interesting (to me anyway) exhibits below from my crappy phone camera which unfortunately really struggled with the low light. Anyway, if you find yourself in Amman with an hour to spare it’s well worth a look especially if you like vintage motorcycles (there's loads of them on display!)

Looks terrific. The Sharjah classic museum is also worth a visit. I convinced the family to do a morning there in the summer and we had a great time. Spent two hours on a weekend and there was not a soul there other than us and the lady in the sweet shop and a couple of lads polishing stuff.

That's good to know, my Parents are over later in the year and they would enjoy that.

I've been to Amman twice now, both times with non-car people so have never managed to make the museum... nice to see what I've missed!
