Al Tayer managed not to tighten the wheel nuts on at least one wheel of a friends Raptor and then took it out for post service test drive. One wheel fell off causing substantial damage that took weeks to repair as a) they didn't have spares in stock and b) they refused to take components off the showroom car. A slight inconvenience when the Raptor was scheduled to be one of the service trucks for the friends desert challenge entry the following week......

Said company wouldn't check my shell bearings when it was in for a service. The said I needed to change all four tyres first ( I was complaining of excess road noise from the rear) and then they would check. So, I have to spend 6 grand on tyres that I might not need because you wouldn't put the car on a ramp and wiggle the wheels around? The reluctantly gave in and I got the car back after someone must have hit the brake calipers with a lump hammer , given the dents and scratches on them. "Oh, that wasn't us sir".

No more business from me.

I have had my Raptor serviced by Premier Motors in Abu Dhabi, nothing but a great experience. Checking the car in, phone call updates as to when it will be ready to collect, a thorough explanation of the work that was carried out and a bill for 700aed for the privilege.

I understand that Premier and Al Tayer are the same company?

Fats25 it might be worth the 45min drive to abu Dhabi to get the servicing done??

The Al Tayer stories are not filling me with confidence, yet the seller raved about how good they had been!

Issue I have is that it has another 18 months/40,000km service package on it, and I doubt is transferrable to another branch. I will have to see. Have until January or 6000kms to figure out what I do (whichever comes first).
