I've just looked back into the annals of time, that karting session was July 2011, where the fk has 3 years gone??
Barasti I gather is undergoing refurbishment at the moment and although is technically my local I'm more often found in Riyadh or Jeddah, (neither of which as terribly good for a PH style knees up).
Karting. Hmm, I'd be up for that. My power to weight ratio on the kart should be somewhat improved on the last time..
I'm in the Marina and can be regularly found with Mrs T in Speakeasy's, Girders, Rosso, Nell Gwynnes, Chinwaggery or Pier 7.
My youngest son and I go Karting quite regularly (he's nearly 15) and even though I know it's wrong - I take great delight in shoving him in the gravel trap
All 3 of us have a soft spot for American Muscle Cars which is why I'm currently driving a ZL1.

Speakeasy's Paul, for shame.
Re: karting, if a little travel is ok I hear Al Ain raceway do a full grand prix [15mins quali, 2 x 20min heats, 1 x final] for 300chips per person. Also all karts are ballasted so the driver/kart total weights are equal so noone can moan.
That said, I'd be up for an arrive and drive at the Kartdrome followed by the Crown & Anchor.

Now that is my sort of carting! I'm in provided the rest of you drive round with another person strapped to the car to equal the weight out.
Chilli - you don't need to ballast up!
This whole weight thing came up last time, someone (Harris?) posted some data about how much difference it actually makes, was less than you'd think (but obviously just enough to be the reason that featherweight Asterix was quicker than me).Chilli - you don't need to ballast up!
Is there a way of getting there without going around 100,00 bloody roundabouts. I'm told Al Ain itself is quite nice, but I've been around it several times and lost hope. Its like an Arabic Milton Keynes without any of the latter's redeeming features..
ETA - What am I saying? MFK doesn't have any redeeming features.. I've been here too long. :sigh:
