Drone demo / competition DIC 6th & 7th

Seems there's a competition and demos for small drones at DIC on the 6th + 7th. Lots of work going in to the setup of the arena etc. Might be interesting for the PH'ers that like burying model aircraft in the sand

I think i would be hopelessly outclassed with my humble Parrot drone......
That said, the pioneers have to start somewhere, so i am currently researching a range extending modification, and carefully researching payloads.

we have a film crew at site at the moment. next month they're coming back with an 8 rotor commercial drone complete with FPV and a £12k camera. must have some serious comms as well given the longest panning shot will be 6km across rough countryside!
