A lad a work has the UKTV box and has no issues with it, lives in the Green community if that makes a difference.

Green Community is an Etisalat area though isn't it.... these problems are caused by Du we think.

They say it is fixed now but my subscription lapsed yesterday so can't test it. I don't want to fork out cash unless I'm sure it's back.

How is it behaving for you guys ?

Yep can comfirm its back up and running here now (Dubai Marina on Du).

Catchup / VoD can be flaky, but for me thats always been the case. Live TV is fine though.

All perfect here for me, the only exception is HD movies on the VoD section but I never watch VoD anyway!

Back up and running for us as well (Arabian Ranches, DU.)

Their communication was pants through out the problem which was the worst bit. I think their key (maybe even only tech guy) called Mike was away, once he came back it only took a couple of days to sort.

This is what they said in thier email.

How is your service? We have been all good for almost a week and see you
that you are watching our service.

I am sorry but the issue was not a UKTVAbroad issue.

Your local internet provider was blocking certain signals to Dubai and we
were tagged into it. We did contact the relevant organisations to get this
problem resolved but it was completely out of our control.

Had it been a UKTVAbroad issue we would have been able to fix it very
quickly.

I really must get my @rse round to Dereck's and buy my modem that he has bought for me. Problem is I am in Qatar this weekend.

It's not the actual unit Ian, what I bought for people is the wireless adaptor to enable the unit to run without the LAN cable... you'll need to contact UKTV directly for the actual box.

Ok so I need to pay you for the wireless adaptor unless you have a potential buyer then sell it to them.

Anyone having issues with this again?

The usually reliable live TV is causing issues now, but catch-up is fine. Tried two different connections and its the same story.

It seemed to be a bit upset last night.

No news on their FB or website pages.

Will see how it goes tonight.

I messaged them on FB and got a good/quick response.

No issues reported and they have someone based here who confirmed it was ok. They made some amendments to my link somehow (maybe directed me to another server) and that seemed to work for me.

Will see how it goes.

Where you heading Derek?

I've seen you on the hunt for boxes on a community FB page we both frequent!

No idea at the moment mate.... my company here has closed down (owing me a fortune) so initially I think it's back to the UK whilst I try and find another ex-pat position.

Any leads on an IT Management position gratefully appreciated!

Caig,
Could you pay and collect mine and I will collect / pay you either at your workshop or the track?
