Not satisfied with replacing the front suspension, it seems that the X now needs a new drive shaft bearing.
It drives like a 20 year old truck, and being a Jaguar this means that simply replacing the bearing is not possible.
So, off to the main dealer for major wallet surgery.

I wonder if anyone else has had this much st with their cars? I doubt it.

I had the driveshaft bearing fail on our Touareg. I too thought the only option was to use the dealer but I've since found out that AAA Rashidiya (not sure about Al Quoz) can replace just the bearing at considerably less cost. If it's not too late you could try them first.

Not taken it there yet. Guy who looked at it was 99% sure thatThat was the problem, but didn't want me to spend 6k + without having it confirmed. Dusty has given me a good guy to call so will try him next!

Buy American, cheap interiors, cheap horsepower, cheap to fix, fun to run

m 6 years and 130k kms into Mustang ownership, aside from tires, brake pads,batteries and a general suspension refresh the only unexpected bill it's thrown at me is a small pump in the gearbox that cost me 5 grand.

ETA - I'm looking to change cars but frankly I'm scared of what I'll buy here, European scares me, I'm going to end up with a cts-v

I am wondering if there is a correlation between this thread, and how slow people drive over speed bumps over here?!

It makes me laugh/angry (depending on how much of a hurry I am in) how slow the 4x4 drivers drive over the speed bumps. I understand in a low car (I drive a Camaro too), but I never realised how much of a car killer these bumps were. Perhaps I need some more patience whilst I drive over them in the Raptor.

Customer was telling me you can ship the bearing kits in from the US now and just get a garage to fit, or no doubt some garages stock the bearings too, the full shaft replacement is a bit of a wallet killer.

Someone on here had a coming-together with an unpainted speed bump at night in their mint Intergrale....caused no end of damageI IIRC.

Er, guilty as charged. It was actually during the daytime somewhere out in the desert in Sharjah. A temporary construction power cable had been laid across the road and cemented over the same colour as the rest of the road.

Actually it was Onno in his identical giallo Evo 2 who took the brunt of the hit. I saw him fly over ahead of me which gave me a chance to shed just enough speed to 'just' rip off the front bumper, buckle my wheels and force a damper revalve. He wasn't quite as lucky.
