Has anyone had to claim on their warranty and not had the 5k oil services done, the dealer, Jeep, have told me if I don't have the oil services done by them then my warranty claims would be rejected!
Anyone know if this is correct?

Regrettably correct, although I thought Jeep were 10k services?

5k on the SRT unfortunately. It's 630aed, so I suppose not too bad for nearly 10 litres of oil.

Only here, if you look on Jeep's recommendation it's still every 10k kms even for the SRT I think.

That's the angle I'd take if you had an issue.

No one has yet given me a proper explanation of why this is needed.

A lot of ME cars are build in Oz (which has 40+ degrees temp) and we got along just fine with oil changes every once in a blue moon. Camry's in particular - run forever.

And I believe the Cadillac Northstar V8 (related to the engine in mine) was rated for 100,000 miles between changes.

Im fairly sure the families who run the automotive market here sat down many years ago and agreed on it for obvious reasons.
