Hi guys,

Haven't been on here for ages ...hope you're all well! smile

I've got a slight concern that one of the locals here (a director but not in my 'group') doesn't like me. I think it stemmed from me 'correcting' a statement he made in a meeting, where he was setting ridiculous expectations which weren't attainable. Since then, he's made a point of coming up to me afterwards and giving me lessons in manners! Today was the latest example...I was apparently disrespectful by playing with my water bottle while someone was speaking!

I don't like grudges, either holding or being held...so does anyone have any advice about how to patch up relationships?

Thanks,
J.

Until you leave the company you have 2 options to fix the problem:

1) assassinate him
2) suicide

serious answer?

speak to another local of the same status [within the company] or higher. explain the story and ask their advice. hopefully they will assist in smoothing the waters. humility is the only way out.

..and there it is.

I've just deleted a three paragraph explanation of what I think about the locals in fear of what could happen because this thread has the word 'Emirati' in it.

January cannot come soon enough.

Don't play with your water bottle and instead pay attention to what's going on in the meeting.

You're not a pen clicker as well are you?
