I see that this is on. Given that 'supercars' are everywhere here, is it worth going? It's not that I want to see supercars but rather the opposite which would be nice for a change.

Cheers

Lovely M600 Noble we have in storage going to it.

Great! I had a good look around at a 5th generation white Prelude parked in Layan Community this morning. Cannot recall seeing another one but counted 3 x 458s on the Emirates Road when then drove to work. Like taxis :-)

Over the years, it has been interesting sitting in the Kias and Hyundais at various car shows and seeing the fit/finish/features steadily increasing. I would say the Centennial is about par with the W220 S-Class in many respects and better in a few. Not bad in my view.

in that case you will love it. last time i went [2yrs ago?] there was a hall full of chinese makes. quality was comical and styling was a case of spot the rip-off. the 'rangerover' and 'hummer' were ace.

at the time there were a lot of planned sports/supercar such as the mclaren p1, porsche 918, bmw i8, new corvette etc. all big uae market sellers so the high end manufacturers are always well represented.

Thanks. We saw similar in Geneva I think a few years back - one was 'inspired' by a Jeep and there were one or two others which I cannot recall but I remember thinking how brazen it was!

There will be a significant number of classic cars there this year under the banner of 'Motoring Nostalgia'

So definately worth a visit

Anyone know if a 570S will be on show? Wouldn't mind a look at one in detail..

Yes, the 570S is on display - it's a grower, although still not as pretty as a 911.

We've got the new RS3 and R8 on our stand, which are both stunning cars. Can't wait to get hold of an RS3.

Really like the F Pace, plus theyve got a few battered and bruised Spectre filming cars on the JLR stand.

Check out the new Maserartti concept - stunning.

Just ducked up after work - nice to meet you John and chatting about Oz and the defects :-)

I thought it was surprisingly good. Not too many people and so many of the cars were open, including the very very expensive ones! Friendly staff on the stands (I looked a wreck after a very very long day at work but still the rope was lifted to sit in the new Bentley SUV.

New S-class interior was stunning; I can't fit in an Alfa 4C properly and the Ssaanyong Chairman takes the car for 'Barge of the Year'. Not sure why both it and the S-class had steering wheels that are not on the centreline of the seats but just slightly to the right. Would drive me nuts.

Surprised to see the P1 and Veyron just sitting there with so little attention but could not believe the kids who thought it fine to whack the bodywork, press down on the Veyron rear spoiler and generally act like little so and so's. Felt really sorry for the staff trying to stop it.
