That was the Jet Alliance Porsche Harris. It blew a tyre, ripped a wheel off then the wheel hit one of the NFS-DXB Lotus 2-11's, as you said on lap 1 (end of the back straight I think).

We changed the gearbox on a DC5 between end of qualifying and night practice on the Thursday, then put the original gearbox back in after night practice. And for "fun" we changed the engine during the race. One Mr Jason90 was one that cars drivers along with James Nash who became WTCC privateer champion and raced for Audi Club WRT last year.

How I remember these things I never know.

We shall call you Rain Man from now on.

To be fair, that happens to be my most cherished race. I doubt I will ever experience a day like that again.

I remember that race well, sharing the car with 2 pro drivers, James Kaye-old but still very quick and a young Mr Nash who drove it iike he had just stolen it. Lots of knowledge gained driving with these two

That is despicable behaviour from the Ferrari.

(Assuming no brake failure on his part).

No they didnt, the driver was just a arrogant idiot. They have been banned for 1 race for this. Apparently they're famous in the pit lane for driving like a complete bunch of wkers! The guy in the Ginetta apparently had fractured ribs and had to be cut out.

The Ginetta come down pit lane on the back of a flat bed with the roof peeled back like a can (it passed me when I was on the pit wall).

That particular Ferrari team "allegedly" started to use tyre warmers at the Hungry 12hr race last year. After which they were surprising much quicker....

The same team crashed on the practice day at last years race and thus needed a complete front end rebuild over night. They also crashed into another car in the morning warm-up and started from pit lane (finished 4th I think).

So yes they do have some "history".

Its when people get hurt that it gets serious. For them to write an open letter to complain that being told they're not welcome at the next race is unfair is mental.

They seem like team all the gear no idea!

They were running second at the time so hardly a cut price outfit. I think the open letter was more creventic sending a message to the entire field that this is still essentially an amateur / pro-am series and to respect that smaller teams have every right to be there too

Nobody said they don't have resources and experience.. poor judgement, sportsmanship and attitude seem to be the issue, which has got people hurt in a completely avoidable incident. If they're a risk to the people around them they shouldn't be allowed on the track.

Just seen this, the Ferrari was not the only car doing this lap after lap either
