Drones for good finals - this Saturday

If anyone is looking for something to do this Saturday, it's the UAE Drones for good finals at Internet City (block of buildings around the lake with IBM, Oracle etc). The competition arena they have set up is pretty impressive and there seems to be quite a few local and international teams attending. Also some A.I / robotics demos going on. Free to get in , so should be worth a look.

Watched a really good demo for a tiny drone that fits in your back-pack if you are off to a remote area. If you have an accident have no mobile signal it flys off to find a connection, calls the emergency services with your GPS location, then comes back to let you know someone is on the way. Really clever.

It's a huge setup. My office overlooks it.

I saw two guys carrying a massive plane type drone the other day. Looked like something the military would use!
