Whats the best way to try and protect the paint on a new car. I have spoken with a couple of companies who want stupid money to effectively wax the car from what I can work out

Thanks

Film is still the best solution imo. The ceramic coat is good but it wont do much for stone chips.

Film is the best overall protection as its a physical barrier, most costly though.

Ceramic stuff is good, however does have 1 drawback, on plastic (i.e front bumper and some bonnets these days) it dries physically so hard it makes the surface very brittle, any stone chips are effectively amplified and end up looking pretty bad after a short time. The person applying the stuff needs to know what to use and where on the car and if doing the ceramic coating its best to not use the same ceramic product on the plastics as they do on the metal work.
