It's bad but as long as you do your utmost to keep a safe gap in front of you (esp as the cretins will constantly fill it!) and keep running 360 degree scans to check for incoming loonatics then you'll probably be alright. If I was a bad driver, with poor levels of concentration I'd probably want to get a taxi all the time, but then you realise that most taxi drivers are bad and have poor levels of concentration....and have probably not had a day off in 18 months (I kid you not - no requirement for rest days so they don't bother!

Hmmmmm, doesn't sound too good does it. Maybe I should follow my own professional advice and use buses and the Metro!

We've started using a driving company instead of taxis when punctuality is a must. Don't know where all the taxis have gone but in the last 6 months we're having a nightmare having themn accept orders.

Anyway, it's far nicer to roll up in a Lexus and not that much more expensive.

One of my colleagues has one pick him up every morning and every evening for his commute - he likes to read the paper you see, and it keeps the miles off the Vanquish!

ETA: Vanquish has to be the best name for a car ever, just say it out loud. Sounds like you're talking about taking a castle and ravishing some virgins!

I used to have a driver, the commutes were blissful extensions to my sleep - instead of hate filled battlefields.

Moving tomorrow, and although it will be longer - it should be a nice easy ride, I hope.

Just a quick warning on the increasing use of radar guns - there's a regular spot now where the cops sit in their SUV on one of the flyovers at the Ranches/Motorcity junction, catching people heading from the Sports City roundabout towards Silicon Oasis and the north.
