TBH I'll have to jump in a cab from wherever we go, so I'm easy.

Oooh I love the JA Club not been there in years. Used to pop across there for a pint and a bacon butty for lunch when I was working at Dubal.

Also not too far from home so would be well up for that.

I thought it had closed down when they turned the rest of JA Village in to a ghost town!

How about this weekend coming?

Is it open in the afternoons? We could meet up around 5ish watch the sun set, hold hands, remember all those great cars we've owned, weep a little knowing we have friends with shoulders to cry on...

Chilli - don't take this the wrong way mate as this is in no way directed at you but...

I used to work at a company that was mainly fellas who all really wanted to have a go-karting evening (how about that as a PH meet, at the kartdrome?). All were adamant they would get a major strop on if the evening was held without them. I tried to organise it but on any given night, someone had something they couldn't get out of so I'd try another night, another night and another night.

I tried this 3 times over the space of a year to sort something out and guess what..?

All these guys that really wanted to go never got to go.

So - I suggest that someone makes a date and time and that is it - if someone can't make it then we'll make sure we have a regular thing so it will happen at some point.

Absolutely mate, been there before and know what it's like!
First date for me is gonna be 1st or 2nd April.
Venue? Dunno but the JA club sounds ideal.
Time? Anytime is good!

Problem is that weekends are used for car stuff......

How about a meet at the Autodrome race day on the 2nd?

Evolve is displaying cars and we get some free Fibbers vouchers for refreshments on the day.....

See! Can't keep everyone happy etc...

I'm going to hold my own PH meet in my garden tomorrow afternoon - string vests, hankie for your head and knee length socks with sandals are de rigueur - if you can make it, great - if not - WGAF hehe

So Asterix is having his own one-man PH meet this weekend, Dan is having his on the 30th, Chilli is having his next weekend, and everyone else is confused laugh

Sounds good.

Friends of mine are opening a tuning shop here in AUH with a hub dyno, if anyone was interested in a RR day and then maybe visit to the Rainbow Sheik car museum.

We did a drive to Jebel Hafeet once - that was good fun. Although I've heard that since Bin Sillyman did his record blast up there that the plod are now nicking everyone driving even just a bit fast as certain types are trying to beat it.

Suggest we hold this mid-week and take it from there. Whilst I appreciate that some peeps might want to get w@nkered, we can all get away with a few and get away from "her in doors" for a couple.

Once we get something established, then we can start talking about weekends etc i.e. we all grow a pair and tell the Mrs we are off out - end of! hahahahahaha

My experience ties with some of the comments above - you've just got to start somewhere and take it from there. I'm out of it for the next month anyway so will try to join in at a later date.

Mattt - I went to the Rainbow Sheikh's 'garage' on the way back from a camping trip in Liwa a couple of weeks ago - the collection is amazing, if maybe 15/20 years off the pace now, but it would be much better if there was some way of finding out the stories behind the cars. Why there is a Ford Ka there I do not know - maybe one of his palaces had a long corridor or something!
