I'm going down on Saturday. Shame that the gates only open at 3pm - means we miss out on the first Touring Car race.

Don't gates open at 3pm on Friday only, on the Sat I can't see any reference to them opening - so I assume it's all day?

Hang on, so we're not allowed in until AFTER the first race of the day? Something's not right.

Well, we are in the UAE.

They got the ticket price right so had to fk something else up. The balance is then restored.

If I'm not going tomorrow (95% sure) then I have 2 spare tickets (the normal 50Dhs ones). If someone wants to drive into AUH town and meet me then they're welcome to them.

Excellent day out!

It does seem a bit strange that the gates don't open until 3pm, when there is clearly stuff happening well before then that would be worth seeing. Otherwise I was very impressed with the whole set-up and the 50Dhs. entrance included a free programme, free bottles of water from the kiosks and free earplugs.

I'd never been to Yas before and it's a stunning-looking circuit that gets even better when the hotel roof lights up and they turn on the floodlights. We had our pick of seats on either the pit straight or the west grandstand, although with it being Friday practice/qualifying only, it wasn't very busy.

The only bad part was at the very end when Natacha Gachnang suffered a horrific crash right in front of where we were sitting at the end of the straight. It looked like a very high speed impact straight into the barriers and there are reports that she has broken her leg. frown

Shame we can't go back tomorrow for the racing. Hope you enjoy it, those who are going.

Thanks to cs174 for the lift and the burger! thumbup
