Those massive pick up trucks e.g. Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra etc.

What are they like? Are they any good off-road or are they really just for posing about in? How much are they? Has anyone here ever had one?

I've got two - one is a 6.6L diesel and the other is a 6.0 petrol. They're not that good offroad, but as far is towing is concerned, they're awesome. We tow the race buggy to Saudi which is a 17 hour drive to Ha'il (North of Riyadh) cruising at 150 kph fully loaded with rally gear and 4 people.

People also tend to get out of the way when you're loitering in the fast lane.

They're crap when you want to get them on two wheels down the SZR as well....!

I was admiring a Sierra on the SZR yesterday and the wife just didn't get it - when she asked why I like them I couldn't give a decent answer. I was thinking maybe it was a Fall Guy thing, or even a Back to the Future thing but I don't know. I firmly believe that, like beer and norks, it is hard wired into men to like them.

I went into Ford about a month ago to check if the F150 Raptor was going to be imported but they were clueless. They did have a HUGE F150 Harley Davidson in there that was crap but wonderful in equal measure!

I just don't have the balls...but will now spend the afternoon on Dubizzle considering the options....

The Ford Raptor was at the Dubai Motor Show last year and I've seen a couple in town in the last week or so. Whether it's officially here or not, however, I'm not sure. Can find out if you're interested?

I love them! For the same reason i like H2's because they are stupidly big and pointless for a everyday truck but god they are awesome! One of the boat dealers in Q8 has a dualie GMC fully off road spec'd its huge! There are loads driving round Bahrain and the US Navy guys here have their fair share too! The Dodge Ram one is insane!

Hitch, there is one blue raptor rolling around Bahrain but im not sure if he is a local or maybe a Yank who shiped it over? Either way WANT WANT WANT!!

My thoughts exactly! They just have a presence on the road that would probably make your H2s look average!

By the way, there was a black Hummer H1 for sale at one of the dealers in Al Awir yesterday afternoon. I'd never seen one before, they're seriously big.
