Middle East spotted thread
Discussion
Green Porsche 356 on Umm Suqeim at Friday night next to me at the lights just before Miracle Gardens heading towards Ranches. Had what appear to be Mobil horse logo on the front fenders.
No photos since their passenger window was down with a female occupant and would have need a flash since it was dark. Not the best combination of circumstances to take photos under!

So last night I saw a yellow car leaving the Geant by Jumeirah Park.
I asked the Mrs to take a photo as I was driving, but she refused as "they don't like it over here". It was a western looking guy and kid our for a play, so I don't think they would have cared.
I had never seen one of these cars before, and by the time I got home I had already forgotten the name of it. Mostly because I was still arguing with my wife for not taking a photo, and explaining how badly that would go down on this thread!
It has been bugging me all day and on this quiet week before Xmas I have been trying to find what it was. I think it was a kit car of some description.
The make began with a Q
The model began with an M
My memory says it was a Qasar Mantaloupe - but I am 99% sure this is actually incorrect! Any ideas to put me out of my misery?

I am trying to think of where I saw it but yesterday I saw a yellow convertible that looked like a cross between an Fiat Barchetta/Mangusta Qvale at the front (large oval shaped headlights) and a Detomasa Guara /Maserati Shamal at the back
Same car?

I'm glad it was you that answered XB70!
Firstly because you got the car correct - it was a Qvale Mangusta, and have put me out of my misery.
Secondly I'm wondering if I've won the beer as spotted this tonight. Is it the same ?
Close but no cigar :-) Firstly because you got the car correct - it was a Qvale Mangusta, and have put me out of my misery.

That's a DTS (which was the largest sedan Cadillac made) - I think they have a stick shift too! It's the next size up from my one. That looks like a nice example. Not many of them around and a few are quite ratty. There is a stunning black one down the road from DIFC in one of the apartment buildings.
There was someone in the car next to me earlier this evening looking at the car and I thought "a Ph'er???" and then "&I&^, I owe a breakfast!" but not yet!
Cheers

Logged back in after a bit of an absence here to ask what the yellow things was I saw on SZR this morning. Only caught the tail of it, but definitely that.. Never seen one of those before..
Whoever it is, certainly seems to be using it well given the number of spots recently!Fats25 said:
If I spot - I want beer. Not interested in breakfast!
4 1/2 hours left and I think fair to say that not yet spotted :-) Even when parked up with a flat on Umm Suqqueim! Give the very nice DTS you did spot, that is close enough for me so a beer is on me Fats25
Have a great New Years everyone and best for 2016
