Saw my first DBS in the flesh last week - in classic Aston met greeny-grey. Lovely looking thing but it did look a little, well, small.
Also, spotted a black Z8 in the lakes - looked like an Alpina. I used to see one almost daily in Harborne, Birmingham so am never really flustered. But thinking about it I've never seen one anywhere else yet there are loads in Dubai.

OK guys - EAT MY GOAL.
Spotted in Max Garage (OK that's cheating I know): Ferrari 250 California Spider. At least I think it is. Looks way too good to be a replica, though I didn't dare open the bonnet to check underneath. Registration plate "250".
The only thing that makes me think it might not be the real deal is who on earth would walk away from their £6 million work of art and leave it without a team of armed mercenary guards in a dusty warehouse in Al Quoz? Not that I'm dissing Max (actually I think they do a pretty decent job on older cars), but it just doesn't compute.

I probably shouldn't be saying this on a public forum, but I hope these people are not entrusting their priceless sports cars to be stored in a walk-in warehouse. Although there were plenty of mechanics around, they allowed me to prod and poke to my heart's content, no questions asked, though I was a bit shy about fiddling with the Ferrari for obvious reasons. The Ferrari was also on a ramp, suggesting there was some work needing to be done.
Wow, I would never store that car anywhere I couldn't observe it on a webcam 24/7 with an armed response team ready to spring into action.
The last time I was there, I also had a polite go at the workshop foreman for leaving my car with the keys on the dashboard. Come to think of it, I'm going to call them now to ensure they take extra care of my car....

That's been there for years; it was there when I was getting some bits sorted for the Blue Beastie in 2008.Spotted in Max Garage (OK that's cheating I know): Ferrari 250 California Spider. I suspect it is a replica.
Been a bit of a day for exotic spotting for me here in Dubai today.
Started with a lovely Creamy White Aston parked outside the Atlantis The Palm Hotel when I checked in and continued with a G55 AMG, Yellow AD plated Lambo G, Yellow 911 GT3, Black Phantom, 2 x Bentley GTs and 2 hideous Hamann kitted X6s all at the Mall of the Emirates early evening.

Just read that and am immediately aware of how blase I'm becoming - have seen two GTCs in the past week, past a Phantom on the way home, a silver 612 on a run to the shops and must have stared in horror at at least three similarly st X6s over the weekend. I also saw a 599 last weekend; what a totally stunning car that is.
Yeah - see silly cars all the time - hence the joy of seeing something older and more quirky. There's a great old Mercedes wreck in Sharjah near where I used to work - would love to get hold of it and restore it.
As they say, you can't buy taste but all you have to do is pop along to Al Khor to see the year old exotica that Ahmed has got bored of since something shinier came out.
