I have posted a bit about this in the thread about "where are all the G50s" but just to confirm that, following 2 successful taster races at Donington and Snetterton this year, the CSCC will introduce the "New Millenium" series full time in 2015.

G40s and G50s are both eligible.

The races will all be 40 minutes long with a compulsory pit stop for one or two drivers. Single drivers have to get out of the car and back in to simulate the driver change.

The cars will all have to race on List 1B tyres.

We will have a good calendar next year including 2 x 40 min races at Spa over one weekend in June.

So far TVRs have proven to be successful in the top class but it would be great if there were some Ginetta G50s to give them some opposition whilst in the up to 2 litre class the G40s proved to be very competitive and have had great battles with a couple of Clio Cup cars. Good racing!

Hope to see some more of you out with us next year.

why keep it to List 1B tyres? thats probably the main thing that will put any G50 owners off, the cars have never run on road tyres and they aren't really suitable for the cars. I would advise my customers with G50s not to race in the series as i think its verging on dangerous to run on unsuitable tyres

Peter, all,our 40 minute series run on List 1b tyres for cost and time reasons. The series is designed to accommodate a wide range of car types, all of which should be road based cars and we'd like to include G50s in that as a special case; plenty of TVR Tuscans race with us, as an example, and have managed to adapt to the List 1b requirement, as has John Danby's GT4 Evora.

I'd expect that a G50 could also be adapted to race on List 1b tyres.

A lot of G50s have been built but many don't appear to be out racing, this gives them an opportunity in a cost effective series. The invite is there and I really hope that some one takes the plunge and joins in in a G50. If not it will be a shame as I think the new series will offer excellent value for money for the clubman, and a good calendar, including 2 x 40 min races at Spa, but I think the grid will be a decent size anyway.
