Hi all, Hope its ok to post these in here. I went to Shelsley Walsh hill climb today. I will be going again tomorrow too, this is my first proper attempt at motorsport photography and a relatively new camera to me, it was a bit of trail and error with the focusing and settings etc, any C+C would be welcome.. Here are my favourite photographs from the day (I did get some rather fetching pictures of blank track...) I should have some more tomorrow, ill be taking a smaller lens too! They have been cropped and had a bit of post processing:

chevronb37 said: Just a couple from the Donington Historic Festival yesterday. Bit chilly but glorious machinery out there. Must apologise for this last one. It's not very sharp but found it somewhat evocative. We were stood at Macleans watching as the pack streamed up to Coppice. The light was dropping and the air full of wonderful noises from a miscellany of fabulous sports racing cars from Matra, Ferrari, Porsche, Lola, Chevron and Ford. It rather put one in mind of Le Mans 1971 (I imagine...), standing at Tertre Rouge as the pack blasted off for another fearsome run down the Mulsanne at 200mph+. This T70 Mk3B was smoking throughout the race and enjoyed an early off-track excursion at Coppice. With muddy tyre sidewalls and billows of light smoke it was hammering round looking distinctly second hand but it lasted the hour and sounded divine. Just what endurance sportscar racing is all about for me. Thanks for uploading those Chevron, unfortunately didn't get the chance to go on Sunday much to my dismay, so at least I got to see some of the action thanks to you! Love the picture of the T70, as you say very powerful image.. Did you get any shots of the U2TC boys or were you only there on Saturday?

I'm afraid I missed the U2TC guys - they were only there yesterday unfortunately. I just had a glance through my U2TC photos from last year but there's nothing special amongst them. I'm pleased the T70 photo worked - sometimes it's easy to spend ages trying to get everything pin sharp and perfectly framed but the shots you like the best sum up a feeling or an atmosphere.

He did seem to be getting used to the car very well! Sounded great too. Im glad he got it fixed for the sunday too. A suspension component seemed to fail on the Saturday. Trevor did seem to be going well! Seeing the front wheel lift into the corner was a suprise
