I took part in a 6 hour endurance race at Silverstone at the end of last season. I was only in a car for just over an hour but I felt like I could have done the whole race should i have had the chance.
I'd really like to do more, I know I am in good enough physical condition to maintain concentration for a long period of time.
Any suggestions gratefully received. Ill ask around the club I race in as I have seen one driver competed in something like this in Germany on there profile.
thanks

Perhaps the obvious series is the VLN at the ring -lots of seats available on race cars direct and I suspect there is a better German website for the series

I may have, subject to a full driver line up, three seats available in a proposed six man team for the 2012 Britcar 24hr race in September, but it's not cheap and not for the fainthearted if weather conditions are as evil as 2010 !!! The car will be a fully prepared Porsche 997 GT3 endurance spec run by my own team but within a very experienced and established preparation team, we came third overall in 2010. We prepare with an attitude to win or place if unlucky, and to very strict standards hence our 4 season record of no DNF's but this comes at a price. If you want a chat about this e-mail me on: rod@hawthornsmotorsport.co.uk check out our website at: www.hawthornsmotorsport.co.uk

The event i took part in was actually the Birkett 6 hr relay. So not sn endurance race but it gave me the taste for racing long stints, i appreciate the event comes nowhere near to sharing a drive.
Ks - thanks, I'll talk to the driver in my club as I think his drive was at the ring.
Bb - I'd personally say a few thousand depending on what/when/where? I don't know what that kind of money gets you but I wouldn't take a seat in 2cv for it!! ;-)
Rr - Ill drop you an email and see what you need, at your level i imagine it won't be about who can just afford to drive but you want winning, experienced drivers. Unfortunately I would not class myself as either just yet. I'm certainly not feint of heart but likely to be feint of coin and experience to purchase a drive in your 997. For instance I haven't raced/driven a sequential gear box nor did I drive my own 7gt3 flat out off the curbs 6 years ago when I was a novice track day goer. That is not the case now in the Caterham I race, i drive with no fear and have had winning in mind since my 2nd race, 1st race was just not coming last against experienced drivers.

Hi Bund,
Not quite Brit car level but we have cars available for the Trackday and Team Trophy series. Races are from 45-60 mins long with 30 min Qual, there are talks of a 2 hour race at Anglesey this year. Prices are very sensible and we can offer solo drives or a shared drives. There is a seat available at Donnington 27/28th April for a shared drive if you are eager to get out there!
We have a RWD E30 328i and a FWD 306 2.0 Rallye that are ready to go for this series.
Please email andy@podiumprep.co.uk or call me on 07738093363 for more details

You could also contact the 360 motor racing club and see if they know of any drivers looking for partners in their annual 6 hour race at Snetterton on May 6th

You might also like to try the Fun Cup. 5 or 6 hour races (25 hours at Spa and 12 hours at Snetterton later in the season) all offered on an 'Arrive and Drive' basis.
Speak to Paul or Roxie at JPR and they can provide details. Just search Fun Cup on Google.

If you're interested in crossing the pond, there are always seats available with teams for ChumpCar - usually for $6-800. It's a fantastic racing series, and I often wonder why there isn't something similar in Europe yet (track fees too high?)

That's what I did and I can tell you that for smiles per mile per £ it beats all the rest! I heard a rumour yesterday that the Mighty Minis are sharing this race. Is this true?

I was not putting the 2cv race down, just stating that I will not be paying thousands of pounds to get a drive in one.

I'd have a go at the 2CV 24hrs - considering my usual mounts - I'd do it for the smile factor. As for the Britcar 24hrs, I shall look again for this year - anything considered. Rob.

With testing and qualifying 7 hours is likely, with some teams more if you are one of the fastest in the car. I can put you in touch with a couple of teams if you are interested.
