Skylinecrazy said: With 2012 gone, we also say goodbye to Lee Adams, who announced his retirement from the sport this weekend. (according to the commentary!) GW Jr has advertised the car for sale, which would seem to confirm this. Yours for £50k.

I think I've read that another driver has ordered a raptor too, so that could mean 3 on the hills next season. The provisional dates for the British are the same as this year as far as I know..

Someone mentioned Rob Stevens is getting a Raptor, but I've not seen him advertise his Force. If he fits his "million horsepower engine" from the Force, the Raptor would be unstoppable in the <2000cc class.

A supercharged raptor would put him right up there with Willis and Moran for the overalls IMO! That force seems to break a bit though!

Yep, that's exactly my take on it too - the extra power would be enough to really bring it to the V8s. I make it about 1200bhp/ton with his engine in the Raptor, compared to about 1350bhp/ton in the Gould. The apex speed of the Raptor is visibly quicker in the medium speed corners. Of course, the big question if this rumour is true is whether he'll put cycle wings on it and run it in Sports Libre rather than the single seater class...
As for fragility, he's pushing almost 300bhp/litre from a production engine and following an untrodden path, so that's hardly surprising. Also, that Force is rather lightweight for a fully clothed libre car.

One of the best aspects of the Raptor is the drivability, reliability and ease of the big 1600 hayabusa, and the way it can be packaged. I would wonder whether some of that would be lost with a forced induction engine, would it actually end up significantly faster? I suppose it could give it that extra edge on the power hills where the raptor has often lost out, but it might lose that simplicity and nimbleness that made it so competitive where it has been.

I don't think it'll lose drivability, although it might become a lot more unreliable! Think the Summers' DJ. Although if Alex does most of the rounds next year, I think he'll get a number.
Any news of anymore GR59s being built? Heard there was another V6 Force about somewhere too.. (at least I swear one of the commentators said that!)

THere is, of course, only one way to find out As for GR59s, there is one more coming out in the near future in the hands of a driver that is recognised as one of the best!

Martin Groves? Paul Haimes? It's a guessing game.

Looks like Steve Day has purchased the raptor then! Hopefully it'll still run in a few British rounds.
