What about you ?
Er a 1 series. I was just spectating! Shame you retired though, the Boxster looked excellent and was running very well.

Simon
Thanks Simon smile
We're out at Silverstone this weekend and then Snetterton 750MC Roadsports on the 26th May - pop by and say hello

For those who might be interested, here's the full race from Brands Hatch, on board with the Porsche 944 S2 driven by my dad & I:

You'll also find the full race from Snetterton.

My 968 is the same P/W as Bazz and Luke's S2. Bazz and I were nose to tail when he did his pitstop. I hope you stay in FC guys!

Its only 2 years since luke and i started. You will get there. And your car looks really nice. Was it built by ninex. Or a self build?? Bazz

It was a new build by EMC, called the purple people eater on their web site, I bought it with. Little use really and no active racing that I am aware of....

We race at the Spa Summer Classic this weekend. For anyone in the area or passing entry for spectators is free to include paddock and stands all weekend. Cant see that happening here ir in the UK !

It it me or have they really hiked the prices up? I was thinking of doing a CSCC meet at Combe but they want £365 entry and yet it was just £275 or £290 for Cadwell, why is that Combe is a bit of a dump anyhow?

Is it because it's a privately owned circuit?

Iirc coombe is very restricted on days, hence higher prices for those days they can run

Is the Pembrey race a double header for modern classics?

Entry fees are largely determined by circuit hire fees - the biggest single element of the weekends costs by far - high hire fees = high entry fees. I don't know the details by I am guessing that Combe is more expensive to hire than Cadwell?

As far as I am aware, Pembrey is a double header for all series - 1 race on each day. The aim is to encourage as many people to attend as possible, given the travel. I think there may be a plan for a BBQ on the sat evening but don't quote me on that!

Hi all - thought I'd jump in on this topic as the CSCC Modern Classics series is something I'm considering for next season, as a complete novice!

I've just got hold of a 968 to use for driver training etc. while I get my race license and to hopefully use in the series. The car is fully prepped already so all the hard (interesting?!) work's been done for me. Probably for the best as my spanner twirling isn't great...

The only issue I have is the tyres. It's currently sat on a set of very sorry looking Michelin Pilot Sport Cups and ideally I would replace them like-for-like, but they're no longer available in the same size (17"). Can anyone give me some pointers as to a good alternative?

Hopefully I'll get along to a few of the meetings this year (Castle Combe in July?), so will get to know a few people along the way. Looking forward to the challenge!

Cheers/John

Other choices are Toyo R888's and Yokohama A047's, John - I personally find the Toyos offer a good grip / wear rate / price balance and they're not too bad in the rain........

Many thanks for the quick responses - much appreciated. I'll start looking for decent prices...! It does seem to be a struggle to find many track tyre options for the 17" wheel.

Do many upgrade to 18" to get round this problem? Must admit it's not my favoured approach due to price.

Cheers/John
