Its easy to exceed track limits on the last corner!!!

Hi folks,

We were considering competing in the Modern Classics in the 2013 season, but the car wasn't equipped with a swirl pot to allow us to last 40 mins. That's all changed now and I think the only thing we need to go from sprint racing to mini-endurance is an oil-cooler.

Therefore to allow us to both race next year (My race car no longer exists!), we'd be a husband and wife team using my wife's Impreza WRX circa. 1995. It's running a fruity sounding 300bhp and class-wise won't be treading on anyone's toes I don't think.

Details on Karen's racing so far and info/videos can be found here: www.karenphillips.co.uk

Think we'd be a good fit for the "Modern Classics"?

Cheers,
Rich.

I don't think a Scoobie meets the allowed regs for Modern Classics

It is for all makes of production saloon & hatchback (above 2 litres) and all production GT and sportscars in production up to 1 Jan 2000 of any engine capacity. Sub-2 litre forced induction saloons and hatchbacks will also be allowed as they are excluded from the Tin Tops Series - you'd need to check with the club

There is a class in Modern Classics for 4WD 2 litre turbo cars and the first generation Imprezzas are eligible as long as the remainder of the series regs are adhered to.

I have had a quick look at the photos of the car on the web site and it seems to meet the body regs. Probably best to PM to discuss further (I'm the series drivers rep) but it looks OK at first glance. You'd be very welcome.

Hi Guys,

looking forward to our first race at Snet on the 20th in an e46 m3,

what tyres are people using? there is lots to choose from on the masa list, currently using 888s but they are prone to overheating.

We found that the toyos hang on pretty well - so don't discount them

A quick heads up regarding roadworks on the A11 this weekend nearby.

http://assets.highways.gov.uk/roads/road-projects/...

I think it affects traffic coming away from the circuit this weekend but I could be wrong.

There should be no reason why you cant be in the modern classics. you will be in my class - class F. The only thing you maybe be pulled on is you may have to put the headlight back in in the front left..
