Entry forms for Spa are now out.

TWO x 40 minute pit stop races for £555.

Bargain.
Booked.

Never raced abroad before - anything we need to be aware of ?

Notice there are two races - and quite a few of the series merged into one race - is that right ? (Massive track so not a problem)

Do you know how much practise time you get ?

Any recommendations for travel and hotels etc ?

Andy - are you going ?
As major dad has said really. I am hoping to go. Depends on co driver really! No recommends about hotels or ferrys as only been once before and that was 3-4 years ago. Ask on the CSCC forum on tenths.

Qualifying time is normal 30 mins but I'm not sure whether we have separate qualy on each race day. There are practice sessions on the Thursday and Friday I think at extra cost.

Scrutineering was a pain when I went But they will check underwear and boots etc and you will need 2x door bars.

For us, we will be racing in a combined race with the other CSCC series (except swinging sixties and classic k as they have own race) so on track with tin tops, future classics, mag 7s and Porsches. Should be a full grid of 75 ish cars!!! And if you ever look at the TSL Timing results for these series you will see that many cars in TT, FC and MC are very evenly matched so should be good racing for all. Pots for normal classes in each series too so its effectively 4 races in one.

The weather can be a pain - hot and dry one side of the circuit and monsoon the other. Make sure you have a set of tyres with full tread and plenty of Rainex and a windscreen demister.

A bit gutted that I'm not eligible for Spa this year (don't have a National A), but if anyone is looking for a cheap but decent hotel, I stayed in Hotel Le Pierre in Spa when I went for the WEC. Walking distance to the casino, too...

All seems simple, but do we really need foam filled tanks?

1 x 30 min qualy session of Friday. 1 x 40 min race on sat and 1 x 40 min race on sunday (both with compulsory pit stops as normal case).

Additional practice sessions are available on Thursday only at extra cost.

Hi All,

Just to update Andy97s post, their is a CSCC members discount directory that gives a Ferry crossing discount, the 30 minute qualifying takes place on Friday and there is a trackday taking place on the Thursday which is organised by Spa and is booked on the day. The grid at Spa is 65 cars and both races will be full!
Regarding foam filled tanks, please contact the CSCC office for advice.....

Regards, David

Well we almost had a perfect first race in our e36 325 on Sunday. Qualified 2nd when we expected third and then managed to get into first place for the group but then an engine misfire put us back just one Lao to go.

Bit overall some great laps, grape at racing, car is very well balanced just lacking a bit of power.........loved the whole day.

Thanks to all the CSCC crew and the other drivers and mechanics who made us all welcome. We also had our mates in two mx5 competing in FC and MC in our garage so it was a great fun weekend out.

Watched the MC race as had a bit of time before we were out in FC. Was a good spectacle at the front, just a shame that the Porsche gave up the lead without more of a fight.

Does anyone know the guy in the race winning M3? It looks incredibly similar to my old car, and I just wondered if it was...

We had to retire the Mini on lap 2 with an electrical fault, first DNF we've had with that car frown

What happened on the first corner, any videos ?

I thought I got it on film, but it didn't record for some reason.

Hoping to get it fixed for Brands.

Hey, I'm sure that'll polish out!

Here is some footage, I think the Vectra just loses back end on cold tyres , not a lot could have been done but this vid shows how close it was to an even bigger crash!

I have seen the circuit camera video and the Vectra appears to have been tapped at the front to cause the rear to get away. The CoC did not want to see the Vectra driver.

Ultimately deemed to be a racing incident but very disappointing.

That's Silverstone, last month. Not sure why the brands Hatch Modern Classics results are not on TSL yet as other races are.

A good day; 31 on the grid and good racing. I thoroughly enjoyed my battle with a BMW 320, Porsche 944, Toyota MR2, Jag XJ40 and an Alfa GTV until the pit stop.

The TSL website was down for over 24 hours recently - wonder if that's related?

For some reason, modern classics didn't appear on the TSL page but they were on live timing during their track time.

Give TSL a nudge to add them
