It was an interesting 750MC race on Saturday. Cold track and early in the season was going to mean slower times for sure
I've done 1:18s in my old spec car and we were really slow on Saturday. Engine issues but at least we finished !

It sure was interesting! Never seen so many yellow flags in a race, also never seen so many people outside the steward's office... Unfortunately, I was one of them, and the only one to be excluded from the race for overtaking under yellows. I'm still taking it as 2nd place though, not bad from 19th. I'm a bit worried about how competitive the series will be though. If I'd qualified at the front I'd have driven a lonely race I think.

I noticed your car didn't seem to perform how I was expecting. What's the problem? Will you have it sorted for Snetterton?

Class C was very competitive and I had one of my most enjoyable races to blow the cobwebs off. Great to battle with the hordes of MX5s, MR2s and BMW Compacts

I overtook under green ! I was the only one pulled up for it but I was only following Rob who had done the same. That 3rd restart was a bit of a mess but I think they were just trying to finish under green and not the SC. The safety car was behind me when it went green?! COC was pretty good about it though and no penalty and we were told about it in the briefing.

I limped my car home. If I'd known I was 6th then I would have pulled in, but I thought I was racing Rob for first though we both had lost 3 mins to everyone in the first pit stops. I couldn't do more than 3/4 revs and had to coast through the corners to prevent oil surge. Not ideal !

I don't think we'll be doing the next few rounds of the 750MC and not sure about CSCC at Snet yet. It will all depend if I can get the air filter/box I need in time and if it solves the issue we're having. If not it's back to the tuner (again).

The Modern Classics grid is already up to 37 cars entered and we can still take entries up to Wednesday. Think that's a record grid for MC, looking forward to it.

If it's a mapping problem, could Chip Wizards not get it resolved?

I noticed a FB post by Amspeed, your name was on a red E36. Is that an ex-Kumho car?

Congrats on getting 3rd!

We had a nightmare of a day from the start, not sure when I'll be out again.

i think after qulifying and our breakdown in NM race we woul;d have been saying the same tbh, but then the sun shines, luck goes your way and you have some fun.......and life seems so much better.

Racing is definitely a load of LOWS occassionally interrupted by one big HIGH.

The problem is that it's the national layout, which is a bit...

I might do Spa, but it's a long way to go only for the car to break again.

What happened to Smith?

It looked like we were set for a battle for the lead, then he came past us (spectating on the mound) at the end of the straight with the front bumper at an angle, before pulling off down towards the hairpin.

James retired the car due to throttle linkage problems. The bumper happened in a separate understeer and curb related incident. Shame as it looked like it'd have been a good battle for the final few laps.

There were a lot of non finishers - but I guess we had a massive grid.
I was hoping that another 8 might drop out - only reason why I stayed out. And again sorry for holding up the leader. I had no idea who I was battling against at that point and definitely not used to be lapped (the shame) wink

Woof, you were lapped, that is shameful. I will do my best to post up my in car video which only shows 3 laps as I too retired, throttle cable snapped as well. I found it slippy even during the race and the wet track for quali was nightmareish.

I know. Shocking wink
Worse still I held Spencer up for 2 laps. I couldn't brake effectively and couldn't accelerate out of the corners but if I defended hard enough once I got on a straight I was quick enough to hold most back but had no idea he was the leader - Still he should have gone faster wink

Silly National looks boring from a spectators point of view but its actually a fast circuit and good fun to drive. Its a boit like the old SNetterton circuit, big straights and fast corners.

You need some mechanical support, why dot you speak to Matt at Tracktoys and share our support, cheaper than you think and makes the most of the money spent on entries, we would never have raced in MC if we bhad no support as would have retired the car after NM
