Why not move to the open series ?
Well it's now all rather up in the air. We've discovered our engine builders\tuners and chassis gurus 'Powerstation' have closed business. Really not sure what to do now. Could be the end of our journey with the Impreza, which would be a real shame...

Where are you based mate? Lots of other builders out there, arguably better too.Really not sure what to do now. Could be the end of our journey with the Impreza, which would be a real shame...

Andy - don't think you need to worry about what happened on your watch. Fwiw to my knowledge there were no S54 power BMW E36 M3's in the series in 2014, the changes came from 2015.
The rules were open to interpretation as they only referred to "same engine type" - my car as discussed already on this thread was one of those which moved to an S54 engine in 2015. I accept not all will believe me but this decision was made for economic reasons not performance reasons and my car now has less power than it did in 2014... all I can say to corroborate this is that if you look back at my historic times on TSL timing you will see my car is no quicker than it was pre 2015.
Anyway, not that this matters.
For the record we were very open with the club about the engine change in 2015. After the end of the season they've considered everything and their decision to clarify the rules for 2016 now leaves my car ineligible, that is their decision and I respect that.
I only lament that there has been some great close racing in the Modern Classics and New Millennium series in 2015 between 8-9 different cars at the front and it will be a shame to no longer be part of that

I came out at silverstone GP in my 328 and I'm trying to decide which way to go in 2016:
NM - with super touring aero
MC - M3 GT aero (although need to speak to hugo to see if this is allowed on a 328!)

Worcester, West Midlands. I've been contacted by an old racing colleague and put in touch with API based in Hanbury nr. Gaydon off the M40. Things may be looking up. I realise there are great companies out there like ScoobyClinic, EngineTuner, etc. Having something local(ish) can be a god send.

Same regulations as for the 2015 season in Class C. Hoping more cars will make an appearance and rattle some of the bimmer boys. ;-)ooooh up to 2.5 4wd .... what will we be seeing
API are supposed to be very good, although I've no experience of them myself. Scoobyclinic are either great or a bit haphazard, depending on who you speak to. I've had both good and bad experiences with them, although to their credit they have always gone above and beyond to put anything right that has been wrong.

There must be a fair few Subaru specialists about, esp in the rally world in Wales. Just stop making excuses and get out there racing!Really not sure what to do now. Could be the end of our journey with the Impreza, which would be a real shame...

It's in hand. ;-) Looks like we'll be up against your recently sold BMW M3 too...We'll be racing an M3 Evo but probably not until 2017. No race license yet, car not on the road yet and so on mean it's too big an ask for this coming year.
BTW do you need the roll cage and fire extinguisher plumbed in to race in MC? I had a look at the regs and I am sure it didn't mention at least the cage, but I had assumed you would need this.

....and kill switches, rain light, appropriate labelling, tow rings, shrouding on exposed fuel lines, padding etc.
You don't need to have a race license to view the Blue Book on the website:
https://www.msauk.org/assets/2016bbcompletelow-res...
Start familiarising yourself with this stuff *now* so you don't get caught out and make nasty, expensive surprises.
Look at cars like that which you are planning to race not only in the series you'll be in, but in other series too (M3 Cup for example). In fact just start looking at the way good cars are prepared in general.

Here you go, as it just arrived from Ireland.
Club level Tarmac spec. Quite nicely built but, oddly, has a Vauxhall 1600cc 8v engine in it. Quaife Ford Type 9 gearbox, LSD, welded in cage, etc
cool you must have deep pockets to be doing car justice with a Millington Club level Tarmac spec. Quite nicely built but, oddly, has a Vauxhall 1600cc 8v engine in it. Quaife Ford Type 9 gearbox, LSD, welded in cage, etc
