Angus Dawe (Phatgixer) RIP
Discussion
So sad to hear the news of the sudden passing of the very accomplished racer Angus Dawe. I knew him from Britcar days, but I'm sure others who knew him better, will have many others memories of him. He was also a Pistonheads contributor of some note - and so I'm sure his passing will affect many non racers (on here) as well.
RIP Gus.
RIP Gus.
Very sad news. RIP Angus.
I had the pleasure of meeting him on a number of occasions, and as anyone else who has done the same will know, he was a larger than life character, full of fun and always looking to help others.
I'd like to think he would wish to be remembered driving his bright red SL65 at immense speeds down Bruntingthorpe runway at a VMax event, roof down, TV showing the Formula 1 and wearing his German spiked helmet.

Very very sad to hear this news, an original Vmax loony and a bloody good bloke, ironically I think that might be my brother in the car with him above, hope they are drifting up there together now.I had the pleasure of meeting him on a number of occasions, and as anyone else who has done the same will know, he was a larger than life character, full of fun and always looking to help others.

(apologies for the poor quality)
Angus confessed off camera that he was surprised by the speedo's accuracy, having seen somewhere north of 2.00 leptons earlier.. On the way to brunters..
A true petrolhead. RIP and my thoughts are with your family brother.

Gus passed away in his sleep yesterday afternoon. He'll be sadly missed my many of his friends, and i for one am proud to have been able to call him my friend. i was also proud to have been the last person to race with him as team mate in the Brands hatch night race last year.
I've been an emotional wreck all day, but looking back at all my many photo's, you lived life to the max Gus, RIP :-(
