Out of interest. Any views on how the Dunlops compare to the Toyo R888's. Both in dry and wet weather performance.

Graeme, I haven't tried the Dunlop Direzzas but EMC Motorsport swear by them and always ran their Porsche and BMW on them in FC and MC out of choice. They think they are better in both wet and dry than the Toyos or A048s, which is why the new Production Porsche series is going to run on them.

Plenty of others in FC, MC and Tin Tops run on them too.

I think you are right they are a bit better in wet and dry than the 888's, but they are not enough better to justify the price difference. I can get 3 sets of 888's for my 964 for the same as 2 sets of Dunlops of the same size.

We have run r888s and the dunlop. We prefer the dunlop in the dry because it lasts longer, but i do think it takes a little longer to warm up. The r888s i think are better in the wet. Bazz

The Dunlops are unbelievably hard wearing if not ragged, when my car was road legal I managed to rack up 4.5K miles on a set of mixed driving between track days and road. I then used them for the first two of the 3 races in the 2011 PCGB round at Silverstone (Britcar weekend), bit crazy really as they were reading 85 on the durometer and looked shagged.

I have signed up to the new series and hope to do some MC races too. Its the second season for me having just started in motorsport with a 968 that EMC have built, so looking forward to it, can certainly do 6 of the events and hope to do Spa too.

Car curently having some winter TLC and a new clutch before its rolling orad test.

I haven't posted the form of yet but will be, I believe I will be one of 4 S2s already joining so should have some guys to race with. Already bought my first set of Dunlops for this year. Will be very interesting to see how the classes pan out.

Busy busy! You're gonna wear your new cars out! I might turn out for a few Porsche Club rounds as well if I can get the budget together.

Paul, I'm sure that someone will rent you a car for the odd round if you want to join in.

where is everyone getting their Dunlops from? got a quote from DTs and they are now a similar price to TOYOs. also the ADD says they are reduced tread depth, is this the right tyre that everyone else is using?
