Paul, I'm sure that someone will rent you a car for the odd round if you want to join in.
ah! just too many temptations in this racing lark. I am trying my hardest to keep to my Jan-Jun plan of 2 VLN races followed by the N24. After that I might weaken ........!

Steve when I started Alex and Pete where running the little 225x45-16 Dunlops on their white S2 in CSCC Future Classics, ISTR they where getting about 4 weekends out of them and you know how hard those guys push a car.

And they were running for a 30 min practice and a 40 min race at each meeting. 4 races = half a season.

Does anyone know the timetable for Snetterton yet? Wanted to know if its possible to do the Modern Classics race as well. I know they're both on the Sunday but is there going to be enough gaps between the races?

I think the idea is that it will be possible to do both series. So I would imagine there will be enough time between races. Last year the MC race was the last but one race of the day. Have a word with Hugo at CSCC to see what they're planning. Doubt there will be a timetable for another 6 weeks or so

Woof is right, but I have asked for the timetable to allow competitors to potentially race in both.

Any of you 968 racers want to help a novice? I'll be running in the DPC this year and have my car nearly ready. The main thing left is fitting some bonnet pins. Any advice (and preferably pictures!) on the best mounting points would be appreciated.

Give EMC Motorsport a ring and ask to speak to Alex, I am sure he will help out.

Andy,

Already did, thanks. Alex was kind enough to send through some advice on other bits I was fixing, but I haven't heard back about the pins yet and was hoping to fit them before a day at Brands tomorrow.

Just got the regs through - interesting to see that the 964 weight is 1320kgs whereas in the PCGB series they come in at 1220kgs !

I don't quite understand why the PCGB series has their weight so low, when a 964 has a lower 0-60 and a higher top speed than let's say a 3.2 Boxster which weighs in at 1275kgs ?

Woof there are several oddities like that, its a can of worms mate and part of the reason why this new series is so attractive to some people myself included.

Just has the PCGB list for this year - still 6 weeks to go but registrations are low. It will be interesting to see how many people have moved to the Dunlop Porsche Cup.

I have to say a big thanks to Chris Clark and Alex Eacock for getting the decal pack to me earlier today.

I just have the screen header, number plate positions and some odd and ends of decals to do then the car is going to Sunseeker in Poole Sunday to be shown with 4 other local Porsches at Sunseekers pre-season boat show. Many more photos to follow.

Guys the race number roundels are superb quality, I got all 3 on first time without any bubbles or creasing. They look great and with a month still to go my pulse rate is already starting to quicken.

If you meet one of Sunseeker's sales managers, Spencer Brown, pass on my best wishes. We were in the RN together.

Will do Andy.

BTW the car has the 225x45-16 Dunlops on it, its been a few years since I have driven on them but once scrubbed in they delivered 1.31g at 5 degrees ambient a few weeks back on an understeery setup. I reckon I can get them up to 1.4g this year in good weather.

Here you go guys, I think this is closer to what our cars will look like with all the decals on. I may have more some extra Dunlop stickers on there front and rear not sure I just asked for loads, lol. 2x CSCC, 4x Nicky Grist, 4x Powerflex, 4x Mr Tyre, Superchips number plate on the back and Superchips reflective number plate sticker on the front, 3x Dunlop Production Cup for Porsche number roundels (rectangular), 1x PMC midlands windscreen banner. Phew, hope I didn't forget any in that lot and please don't tell me I put them in the wrong places lol.

Ok then chaps and lasses this is how the car looked at the Sunseeker pre-season boat show on Sunday.

Hopefully with the regulations in place and attitude of those organising this series with regards to driving standards the car will stay looking good this year.

Sunseeker themselves wrote about the event on their blog for background on what my car was doing there;
http://sunseekerblogbook.com/2014/03/18/event-roun...

Now over to you lot to post pictures of your car for this year, we have a fantastic variety of Porsche models that can take part so it should prove to be a great aural and visual feast as well as a racing one.

I'm selling a pair of Dunlop Direzza DZ03G tyres 225/45/16. They're at the legal limit but otherwise sound. I have to drive to/from track days. £50 collected from Ealing or plus courier. PM me if interested.

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/parts-and-p...

Mods - feel free to remove but these tyres will suit many of the cars running in this series.

Very enjoyable race today with the Dunlop Porsche guys. I'll be surprised if I enjoy any other race this year as much.

I like what they're doing. The Dunlops are very quick tyres - much better than Toyo 888s and it's cheap fun racing.
