Shame there are no rounds in Scotland? We have an excellent and challenging circuit at Knockhill, it's well developed with modern facilities, well run and in a beautiful setting.

It's good enough for the BTCC and BSB too.

So disappointed not to have raced with you all on Sunday. I had to retire my 968 20 minutes into qualifying after the clutch tore apart. I'd been struggling from the off with random gear access and eventually lost everything.

I guess I could have started from the pit lane and had a go without the clutch, but given how fast some of you were I could have been a real hazard.

Not a great introduction to racing for a complete novice, but parts ordered and should be there for the next round at Silverstone. Fingers crossed.

By the way - woof's off looked pretty spectacular from trackside!

I've quit the PCGB series before even the first round - I can now fully understand why the entries for the PCGB are so low and why the Dunlop series started as an alternative.

It does seem a shame that they're can't be one great Porsche series for the UK

I'll let Woof answer that if he wishes but I think he could afford it if he really wanted to.

Cost is huge for a club series. It's in excess of £45k for a year ( i think you could easily spend £60k) But it's more how the regs are applied. Some rules aren't waived for some cars and then applied to others. Either a rule is a rule or it's not. I can understand they are trying to keep things "level" with their weight penalties but when you look at the actual weight/power/aero drag figures certain models do have an advantage and perhaps good drivers are being penalised for being good and not because their cars are quick.

Anyway we'll probably end up doing a couple of rounds at some point. Just to see how we measure up.

I love the 4 simple CSCC rules....saying that , the front splitter on an M3 at Snett was pushing it ....looked like somthing from Star Wars!

I did mention that to Andy - apparently it's available from a dealer as an aftermarket splitter.

The white Amspeed E36? If so, I think that's a genuine GT2 so came with the splitter from the factory.

Yeah - this one - though i think their splitter extends more than the original by maybe 10cm

Thanks to all involved in the DPC on Saturday at Silverstone National - my first ever race and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

A very wet and windy start to the day, although it cleared a little for qualifying. I discovered just how slippy the combination of cold tyres, water and lack of talent could be at Maggotts on the first flying lap. Who knew?! Oh well, at least I got my little excursion out of the way early on.

The rolling starts are interesting, with the small field rather strung out when the lights go out. I had thought it would be more bunched, but now I know what to expect. Must remember, red lights go out, go...

If I can sort out the video editing thing I'll post some footage.

Anyway, two fun races to start my racing career and looking forward to Brands in a few weeks.

Special thanks to Kevin/Alex Eacock and Andy Duncan for all their advice - it really helped and was much appreciated.
