Sharing father and son? Yes I remember. Sadly I didn't shoot any video this time out but I'll see if I can shoot a bit on Sunday while marshaling. Are yo doing any of the FDMC solos this year? I had a year out last year but I'm aiming to get all the FDMC ticked off this year.

Yeah well remembered dad was competing as well.

Ditto re the year out, I'm quite glad to be back in the solo scene again, but as for the FDMC events I'm hoping to do their Barton Stacey one but I don't think that's for some time yet. From looking at last weeks results there's a BMW 1m competing in my class which sounds like it means business, I'd be interested to see how the old scoob stands up to a newbie like that :-)

Hopefully catch you then

How's everyone getting on ?

I had grand plans to attend at least half of the solos over this year but I had to pull out of the Devises one due to a broken car which means I've only managed one so far.

The other chap in the challenge series, Stephen Watts seems to be attending most of the events no matter how far away they are. I can't do too many motorway miles as 70mph is over 4k rmp, and with no sound deadening the impreza is hard going and if I stick to 55 - 60mph it takes blooming ages lol.

I had a good result at mendip raceway winning my class, but it was wet and slippy so I think some were not going 10 10ths.

Looks like the next one is July for me in Bristol, being based in Exeter Devon that's the closet one to me.

Might see you there :-)
Shame your car broke before Kemble, it was a really enjoyable event

If you can i'd recommend Abingdon Carnival at the start of June - Autosolo Sat (and a sprint), single venue Rally on the Sunday with free camping too!

I might have muttered something similar. The cost of fixing this is looking rather eye watering as I might as well put a decent clutch in their while the garage have the box off.

Not sure how to break the news to the wife that the new double glazing might have to be done later in the year, lol.

ooh I see, this is Steve Watts lol

As I mentioned before good effort on making loads of events, your looking good for a top podium finish :-)

I went to fix the scoob today - total disaster! After fixing the handbrake, went to replace the front callipers and discs then found I have two split ball joints. MOT has run out so need to fix it up first, luckily I've got until July to get it sorted for the next solo but I have a 12 car in a couple of weeks which I'm hoping to have everything done by then.

Have a good one!

Sunny day at north weald! Some nice long tests ( nearly 2 minutes).

A few cameras on cars so hopefully I'll link up some videos soon.

Shame you missed the Devizes one motorbreath, Kemble is one of the quicker venues and would of been well suited to your Impreza which looked pretty quick at Bristol, I was at Kemble again this weekend again doing the bath solo, would of done north Weald if the events didn't clash.

Try some motorcycle ear plugs for the driving smile

Looking forward to the video Steve, I couldn't make it in the end but this was one of my favourite Solos last year with the long fast flowing tests.

Ah man I'm gutted now having watched thoughs two videos, the course looks really flowing.

I think to be more committed to events ear plugs are a good idea I need some for the bike anyway so I'll pick some up next time in the local bike shop.

As for my car I found both front ball joints have split, the to do list keeps growing and growing ...

Cheers, Alan

How are people getting on? I've missed a couple I wanted to do due to mechanical issues but I won 3rd in class last weekend at the FDMC Summer Solo and I'm heading to Simply Sideways AutoSolo at Bovingdon next weekend.

Looks like it's all over for me. Was planning on Bristol but cars still out of action and the event got cancelled any way.

The only remaining event was FDMC in Sept but I was told last week that we are all off on a stag due that weekend so the final nail in the coffin has landed! :-( real shame as I wanted to catch up with people at that event.

All the best to everyone :-)

Ooohhhh just seen an email saying the FDMC event has moved to the 14th... Might have to twist the Mrs arm but that's do-able at present :-)

Missed a few myself due to holidays and a turbo failure that took an age to get parts for, should be able to do the FDMC event 14th, would be good to get my eye in again, there's a solo at Strensham the week after too, though not part of this championship its a decent one to go too.

Hi all,

Headed up to Rockingham (in the outer paddock) last weekend on the 27th July and some really good flowing tests. Taking a month off for August but should be back out in time for Strensham.
