Whilst they could have merged the two NSSCC races the competitors themselves wanted split classes.
correct when the speed differential between the fastest & the slowest cars becomes massive then it becomes dangerous when you are lapping slower cars esp if the slower cars are battling amongst themselvesThe V8s were glorious, got to hear them testing on Friday for a bit as well while we were setting up camp!
Unfortunate race for us with the inertia switch killing the car while in a a 3-way battle for the lead Oh well, on to Brands! Hoping for another strong result there as it's our local track so we have done many, many test miles

Andy, did you used to have a 306 BTCC car? The Falcon looked awesome though, must have been incredible to drive at Cadwell
yes I used to race the ex mark fullalove yellow 306sorry for the thread hijack !
first time ive drive this falcon around cadwell but have done many laps around cadwell in my white falcon
I'm talking Brands GP and Silverstine GP not the Indie and National. MSVT has always run these circuits as combined grids so it isn't a case of small grids but of allowing TT to race with TDT again, which is really positive thing. And the entry fees are now lower than the champs I race on in the same circuits for the same duration.
All good.
All good.

Sounds great but that tells me there cannot be many cars entered if they are combining the grid?
What is the brands capacity, 45 cars?
Edit to add: TT had a dismal 13 cars entered at Cadwell so anymore would be a bonus I guess
I remember Modern Classics only had a dozen entries the year that I raced in that series, so small grids on Cadwell are not unique to MSVT. It is such a fabulous circuit to race on - like Anglesey - and both are a very long way from where I live. What is the brands capacity, 45 cars?

The reason they didn't run them as combined grids from the start is they were worried about the closing speed with the S class and D / E class cars. Having looked at the speeds of cars in TT and TDT and how the S / A cars handled the slower guys in TT, they decided it would be ok and opened them up.
We're down for Brands GP, looking forward to it!

Brands Indy is 32 cars, GP is 44. From what I've seen most series apart from 750MC seem to be struggling with grid sizes. I suspect the Brands Indy TT race in a week and a half will have a healthier grid size.
I bet. Unfortunately it clashes with a race at Oulton otherwise I'd have been tempted. 1 hour race on Brands Indie is intense.Gassing Station | UK Club Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
