"Bodywork must be complete and standard in shape and silhouette, material and
thickness on all exterior surfaces except that bonnets, boots and spoilers may be
replaced with lightweight replicas and any non metallic panel may be replaced with
a fibreglass replica. In the case of a hatchback the hatch may be fibreglass"

Thats 5.8.1, now read 5.8.2 and thats how it compliesthickness on all exterior surfaces except that bonnets, boots and spoilers may be

Yes, I wasn't arguing the point Mark. Just showing what the regs say.
5.8.2 pretty much says that anything goes as long as you're not dominating. Wonder if they'd let me run a central seat Lotus. Strange set of regulations but it seems to work ok.

I was talking to Jez at BoT about this today, about converting the VX to centre seat, its really not a hard job, however reg 5.9d says the driver must sit entirely to one side of the centre line of the car and I believe CSCC, 750MC and Eurosaloons say similar. 5.8.2 pretty much says that anything goes as long as you're not dominating. Are you doing the Brands GP mixed TDT/TT race on the Lotus Festival Saturday?

Centre seat Elise would be allowed in CSCC Modern Classics and would be very welcome as long as it complies with our few other regs.
The VX220 rear wing is removed for CSCC.
I see that as odd as IMO the centre seat would give more of an advantage than the wing. So are you saying the centre seat Elise would be allowed as a handful, 14 years ago, were factory centre seat but never road registered whereas no VXs were and that wouldnt be allowed a centre seat? The VX220 rear wing is removed for CSCC.
If someone wants to develop a central seat VX220 or Ferrari 355 or Toyota MR2 etc then they can, as long as the car complies with our other regs; whether its worth the expense is another matter. (Note the VX220 is allowed in Modern Classics in N/A form only).
CSCC, 750 Roadsports and MSVR Team/ Trackday Trophy all have slightly different regs so I guess that attracts different people/ cars to each.

What did people think of the race on Saturday? I thought it was great even though I only finished 28th, a great track, but I did think the Trackday Team guys were far more aggressive than Ive been used to this year. I know its racing and all but I almost got punted off the track twice with hugely last minute overtaking moves round a few corners that wouldve seen me in the wall if I had taken avoiding action. Looks like it will be a big step up next year in Class B. I noticed that the white Porsche that took class B honours on Saturday took 2 seconds off last years Elise class B lap recordin similar conditions.....hmmmm!
