I was only saying last week that it would be pretty poor if we went the whole season without one round where it made an appearance
I hear TDi arent racing anymore so maybe they're bringing the dyno instead of the race car

so you couldn't fiddle with your car after quali or race on the day/s when they have a RR there.
Switchable dual maps with a hidden switch. If they're going to power test at the circuit they need to look for these too.

Out of pure curiosity, anyone know what engine the Corsa in TDT is running? has some impressive top speeds.
Think I heard its a red top on carbs or throttle bodies

To comply with the rules do you have to run the original type of engine for the car? I.e. you cant run an Audi 1.8T engine in a VX220? Just wondering if an Audi 5.2 V10 would fit in a Mondeo :-)!
5. 10. 1. All entries must be powered by a production based car engine that is fitted with a rev limiter.

Makes no mention of it having to be an engine fitted to that model of car as, I believe, CSCC do. K20 in the VX next year then.

Q Would people object to paying a slightly higher registration fee eg +£25 if it guaranteed 2 surprise dyno's during the season? I'd happily pay my share.
I'd pay

What are the Toyo R888's like in the wet? I was running the Nankang NS2R's on Saturday and probably wasnt helped by not having a well set up back end but I had zero grip in the rain. I went off twice at Clearways doing less than 30mph and was seriously aquaplaning into Paddock at times. I was not having fun!
888's are no good with any standing water at speed, on a slightly damp track they will be better than a conventional road tyre but not much. We used R1R's both days at the weekend and they were brilliant even with our RWD/engine in the back car!

Does TDT allow for cars running non-original fitment engines, ie one that wasn't available for that series during production?

Brands Indy is 32 cars, GP is 44. From what I've seen most series apart from 750MC seem to be struggling with grid sizes. I suspect the Brands Indy TT race in a week and a half will have a healthier grid size.

Brands (indy) can do 34 cars (well, they are next weekend!)
With TT and TDT they seem to stay at 32 for some reason

Poor grid sizes at Brands too!

17 in TDT and 16 in TT.

I can see them all being on one grid next year if they don't do something about it.

They've sorted the power to weight policing now so really they just need to tighten up on driving standards and drop the entry fees a little then it can get back to being the successful series it once was.

There wasnt much wrong with driving standards in TT on Sunday. We got weighed twice and power tested. I must admit we were 1bhp over our declared power but we were also 28kg overweight!!!
