Hi guys, got a few hillclimbs/sprints lined up over the next few months and I need some new tyres. Car is a 172cup.

Any advice?

Kuhmos?

Suited my Impreza and gave me personal best times at Loton, Curborough and Shelsley.

Others will have personal preferences.

My preference is Michelin Pilot Super Sports but I'm not sure if you can get them in your size.

I use Michelin PS3 & Toyo T1-R ( dirt cheap in 15" ), and in the standard class we can run near the front. Best advise is really look at what the leaders in your class are currently using. Ours are using up their last 2013 stocks of Yoko AD08!!!!! The new ones are List 1b as they were so good.

The answer used to be Yokohama AD08 (not AD08-R) but they're no longer available unless you can find some in the correct size via a popular auction website.

Dan, you might struggle using the list 1A AD08 after this season. Look in the blue book.

I got the bug Howard and have bought a 'blade powered Fisher Fury for next year now! Could still be a useful thread for people starting out in the sport though smile

There's no asterisk against it in the 2014 Blue Book?

I'm working on the basis that without that asterix they are fine next year but expect them to be asterixed next year unless the MSA don't worry about people getting the maximum from current tyres and recognise the complete lack of availability. Mine should do two more seasons if I'm allowed, but I don't do many events.
