Hi,quick introduction to all,I,m a previous owner/racer of Barrys JGS.I,m replying to a post made on the 750 formula forum which for some reason I,m unable to access. The request for past history of the car was made back in 2012 (we dont rush things here in Wales).Anyway I jointly owned the JGS from the mid seventies up until the late nineties. There is a comprehensive history available and hope someone can put me in contact with Barry.Regards Baz

Hi,

Thanks very much for getting in touch. I'm replying to this from the signing on office at Silverstone having been told that I was being looked for on here !

I'll message you with my email address and mobile number on Sunday if that's OK.

Would love to know some of the missing history of the car.

Thanks

Barry

Hi Barry, thought I needed to reply if nothing else to wish you and your team all the very best for the Birkett Quite amazing some 37 years ago 1977 Donington Park October 8th I was suffering probable the same butterflies in stomach as hopefully you are!Know this might stir a few memories JGS 111 driven by myself Barry Walker was part of the Tunbridge Wells team. Our very well organised team manager was Bill Mallet very helpful and knowledgeable guy.He put the team together other drivers and cars were Richard Brewer Arcos Mk6c- Dave Hines - Uranus Adamas -Trevor Slatter-Kraken JS1 -Mike Peck-Mongoose- David Elmer Contard Mk 1.If my memory serves me JGS 111 returned the best lap times and as such team manager instructed us to complete the final laps.(the handicappers obviously got things wrong cause we finished well down the leader board)Whotever this was the best race experience I had.Must mention co owner at the time and brilliant spanner man Pete Hawkins sadly no longer with us.Again hope this may bring back a few good memories and hope JGS performs well .All the best to all club racers Regards Baz

I bought the Uranus Adamas off Dave Hines the following year. Here's a picture of it back in 1978, my first season of racing!

I love the roll cage on that.

Look like fun bits of kit.

Hi Baz

Sorry for the delay in replying, just got back from a break on a narrow boat, just about the opposite to the Birkett.

I was driving the safety car, along with 2 others this year, hope to be racing next year in my new Formula car. Unfortunately historic open wheelers aren't eligigable.

I was interesting reading your post, Trefor Slater is back racing in 750 Trophy sharing a Centaur with his son Jack. They were both at the Birkett spectating this year.

I don't seem to be able to sort out sending you a private message but would be really interested in more of the car's history. My email is bpikeuk at googlemail.com.

What is it with these Trophy cars and people called Barry ?

Cheers

Barry
