Did you watch the vid?

All this talk about prepared to have a rub here or trade paint there is irrelevent. It was a spiteful and deliberate act (not an error) that could have caused a serious injury or worse. And for what? A small plastic trophy and maybe a photo in magazine.

I hope I never meet the guy let alone race with him...

Too true but would you be happy lining up on a grid next to a muppet like him?

It's not what club racing is about. I mean, what's the point if not to have fun? Being barged off into a possible fatal isn't what I call fun.

I think there's a bit of a difference between a small tap on the way into a corner and a deliberate move across the track on a straight right into another car that's alongside, especially when that tap is towards a driver who is offline and in an unexpected position, having braked way too much and too early. I've been on the receiving end of quite a few taps mid-corner during close racing and haven't thought anything of it, just a quick bit of opposite lock and away you go again - and all of them were followed up by an apology in parc ferme. If two drivers are on a straight in full control of their cars and one moves deliberately across onto the other, forcing him off the track, then that's a different matter entirely. One could even take the point of view that the Porsche driver's driving was unsafe anyway, even not in light of this incident - would you pass an ARDS test driving like that?

Again though, just my opinion. I'm just very relieved that the driver seems to be ok after the incident.

I think that if it were a bit of tit for tat, or making a mistake that causes danger for another person, or having to lean on Andy Cummings to stop him leaning on you then that's a different story.

But the problem I see is that the Porsche driver thinks it's ok to lunge from side to side on the straight to defend his position. That's not a one off mistake, or a slight error of judgement. That's his chosen way of defending. I think it's dangerous and not according to the rules.
