http://www.pbmwc.co.uk again for a couple of rounds for me. Hopefully, will get to do the foreign round that's being worked on (!!!!)... am drooling at the possibility!

Is the foreign round for these and the TTRS going to be at Zandvoort? I seem to have seen a calendar somewhere that showed them over there but this seemed to clash with the BRSCC Caterham festival, or are they running at that meeting? Seemed strange for MSVR to go to a BRSCC meeting but I guess it depends if the figures are right.

Looks like everyone is really well equipped for the season ahead, as a fellow racer i found this site recently where i bought some parts for my Club Racing car, check it out its very well put together and sells purely racing cars!

https://everythingmotorsport.com

At the moment they have a bad ass Mclaren GT3 car and a Patron ESM P2.

Just thought it would be worth pointing out

I was feeling exactly the same as you when I started racing a couple of years ago, I was so nervous about having loads of cars around me 'racing'.

For my first few races I ended up being really timid at the start, I lost some places when a few cars dived down the inside of me in the first few corners, I didn't block them, I just let them go, I just didn't want to crash into somebody in the first couple of corners of my first races.

After that though I just settled into a rhythm and concentrated on my own race. I soon caught cars that were slower than me and eventually overtook them when a clear opportunity presented itself. The race seemed to go by so quickly and when I got back to the pits the adrenaline rush was amazing, the buzz stayed with me for days afterwards.

I'm slightly more confident now at the start of races and won't give away places so easily, but I'm still concious that it's never worth fighting too hard because an accident just isn't worth it, and quicker cars will eventually get past anyway so it's not worth driving like a tool to hold someone up.

I think the best advice I can give you is awareness, try and keep aware of cars around you and whether someone is looking like they're about to make a move, you don't want to not notice a car closing in on you on your inside coming up to a corner, and then to take the racing line effectively closing the door on them and leaving them nowhere to go other than into the side of your car.

You'll love it though, I too had done loads of track days but the buzz from racing is so much higher.
Cheers for the advice. Despite the nerves, I really can't wait.

I've not even taken the car out yet! Hoping to to get in it for some practice sessions at Brands at some point!

I am fortunate enough to live just 1 mile from Donington Park so looking at doing 3-4 races there this year with CSCC, 750 Roadsports, MSVR TT Trophy (maybe) or the 360MRC In this newly acquired BMW (it's a race Virgin). I may use my trusty 924S for the long 360MRC races, and I may travel as far as Mallory or Silverstone, for some. Maybe I will go and see my parents in Norfolk, to coincide with a race at Snetterton, too, all, in the interests of saving money!!
My one real away race will be at Anglesey if I can find a decent race to do there.

Of course, being self employed, it all depends on work, and I do need a second driver for all races.
