what did you have to do to turn your excellent 3.2 into a capable race car?
Bert
Where do I start. Finding out the hard way. The 3.2 SSE is basically a narrow bodied 3.2 Carrera with option M491 turbo look. It runs all the big turbo brakes and trailing arms but the 930 turbo shell has the steering rack mounting points 12mm further up inside the shell. Consequently when you drop the front ride height you run on the bump stops.
To add to my misery the shell was a million miles of its jig points. So my good friend Steve had the task of putting all of this right. He is an artist. Taking time to work out how to put it all right and stress relieve all the work that he was putting into it. 140 hours of work later we have a car that runs straight and true.
I have done two track days at Silverstone on the GP. One cold and dry and one very wet. The car goes where you point it and feels like we have achieved a very good balance. We seem to have an issue with the silencer restricting power so I have a free flow box on order then a proper remap. In the new year we need to do a proper test day at a circuit where we can get some real representative times from.
In truth the Intermarque will be my choice. Would be nice to lift that trophy back smile

Hopefully, if we can fix our broken engine over the next few months I'll be racing in this again next year in CSCC Tin Tops.

Hopefully I'll be able to pass the old Ford back markers more quickly next season. biggrin

Not the most powerfull... its only got a Rover V8 rather than the full race TVR AJP engine , but it's a hoot to drive, so i think i'll be mostly racing this old Tuscan next season party.

I'll be racing in the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 championship (again) and hopefully a race at Spa with the 750 motorclub MX-5 Cup.
