Its rare that a cost implication is important to a racer ahead of outright overall performance.

The leading Mk1 Cortinas have a fresh engine every other meeting and indeed one of the entrants for the Silverstone Classic stated to me that his lack of pace (he was off the podium) was due to it being his second meeting
You obviously live on a different planet to me!! wink

Cost implications, What I can get in the garage when wifes out, how many motorsport units I am allotted a month., What other household projects are placed in the way of car jobs….etc etc etc..All play a part in my racing…
You must be single or divorced ? biggrin

No - I'm here on earth and married

It was an extreme example of how crazy things can be - that particular championship is a another world and I do not race with them.

What engine is in these Cortinas, the 3 bearing 1500cc one, a Twin Cam or the Kent 1600cc engine. (Can't remember as I was only likkle when my dad used to race and rally his GT in the 60's.

Oh, and he used to have a salisbury plated LSD.

These are 'twinks'

On a practical note I really don't understand how they would go so wonky after ~3 hours of use that they need a full refresh but seemingly they do...
