Mr Spencer I presume?

Looks like a busy old class that one! To be honest I am not sure what the exact procedure will be, but we have a pretty full field, so earlier may be better and get your third practice run by signing on early!

Good meeting today. Wins for Moran and Summers - numbers 150 and 151 for the chassis.

Nasty prang for Will Hall, fortunately he is a-ok.

Big news for PH though is that Mark A S is the proud holder of a Shelsley class record!

Well done!

Check out the s8 times - 64ft in under 2 seconds and 33 seconds for the course - only 1.5 seconds off the new class record set by Mark ( well done - that was a tough record to beat )

The launch on the S8 was pretty remarkable. They both did a very impressive job!

Bloody hell Will's incident was a big one wasn't it! The head on view is scary, especially for the spectators that car is coming towards! Debris everywhere!

I was half-way between Crossing and Bottom S when Hall had his accident. It was bloody scary. Does anybody have a link to a photo or video? I’d like to understand what happened; it all transpired so bloody quickly that I didn’t have time to properly register it all! Looked like the car squirmed a bit under braking, clipped the left-hand bank and then spun at unabated speed into the tyres. So glad to see he emerged unscathed.

I’ve got some photos to put up this evening.

This was the head on view Andy, unsure what happened? Front suspension possibly?

Good to hear Will's ok and I bet the car will be ready for gurston in two weeks.

Jesus. I hadn't really seen it before. He was already mid incident when he entered my line of site and was at rest by the time I had got the 'abrupt halt' phrase out and really registered what had happened.

One of the marshals has speculated to me that he thought he heard a noise on braking and decided it was suspension - I have no official word on it though, just speculation.

Anyway - reassuring to see that Will was fine, the recticel, tyre barriers and catch fencing all did their job as they should. You never want to use them, but glad to know they work!

Thanks for the kind words all, Very much appreciated. It was one hell of a run, tidy too, which is not normally like me wink

SO pleased to see Will is ok, looking at the vid I would say 100% car failure, not nice to see!

Last time I was at Shelsley was August 1997 where I concluded the Midland championship, so this place has some very special memories for me.

I would like to thank all my fellow competitors for the congrats, and from Roy, who shook my hand, said well done, then a pause "you Barsteward" smile

P.S. Yes, that Audi was amazing, well done to Al and David.

Definitely looks like a failure from that angle. Frighteningly fast place to suffer an accident; I'm so glad he was OK.

Few photos from me here: http://www.motorcardiaries.co.uk/2015/british-hill...

And a couple which are relevant to the thread discussions:

It reminds me of Wallace's accident. Still the scariest thing I've ever witnessed during spectating on Motorsport.

Looks like Dave Uren had another cracking round.

I must have been sitting right behing the person who took the vid of Will's crash, it happened so fast, I remember seeing a wheel flying towards Jos Goodyear who was sitting in a wheelchair up on the bank! a couple of minutes later Will climbed out of the car and walked off, glad he's okay.
Brilliant time by the Audi S8, only a second or so off the heavily modded production cars, incredible for a 2 tonne road car.

Wow, did look like a sudden veer left, unless it came from a move before the video starts.
Scary for driver (and crowd) but good that all OK.

Well word is that as there is only 3 meetings to go, and the car is in, shall we say, a state of disassembled currently, he has decided to press on with the upcoming winters work early.

Quite right, I apologise

Gurston
Doune
Prescott
Loton

But anyway, that is the word of Hillclimb UK on Facebook - I can't vouch for their accuracy. They may be useless, they may be bob on.
