I say it every year, but this year could be very close indeed.

Scott Moran will be sharing with Alex Summers, which will be very interesting indeed. Tom New/Wallace Menzies are sharing the ex Martin Groves Gould GR55B after Wallace has broken his DJ. Will Hall will be running the 700+ HP engine from Menzies' old DJ in his Force. Tony Hunt will make the step up to a gould, as he'll be sharing John Bradburn's GR55.

If the raptor can reliably run all season long, I'm convinced Jos can win the title.. It should be a good year.

(All that info above was heard from a good source, so taking it from him!)

Was it Eddie?

I didn't know that Wallace Menzies was now sharing with Tom New. In many ways its a little bit of a shame that Will hall has moved onto the Cosworth - the Nissan sounded the business and they seemed to be getting into the groove really well.

Probably in a quest for more power? The cosworth lump certainly has that.

It should be an interesting year smile

Yeah loved the nissan noise especially in 2014 guise. Still Wallace's motor sounded great also and seemed to take on a different note after Shelsley shunt, ( new exhaust or something else? ), and I love watching Will Hall slide a car around so could be an interesting combo with all that grunt. As you say Jos poss still the one to watch and not sure if another Raptor was muted?

Only got to the Shelsley rounds last year - from my dm, recollection it sounded like it was banging into the limiter fairly readily second time round...mapping issue?

  • disclaimer: I honestly have less than no idea about high performance engines- and that is essentially a guess!

The fact Jos broke Prescott's outright record by nearly half a second after an accident in the first run off made me think he could win the championship. If the car, and more importantly he can stay consistent I see no reason why he can't win. I think the age of the gould dominance is coming to an end.

Not sure about hitting the limiter? He was doing something silly like 144mph at ess approach though. Although I think he hit 150 at shelsley.

I think Wallace was a little slower than that on ess approach, though I understand he was nudging 150 over the line. I just seem to remember him hitting the limiter a lot on his way up through the gears.

Though as I said- it is entirely possible I am talking out of my bottom.

Depending on the diary I'd like to get to Prescott and Loton as they are the other two local hills, but we may just have to see how we get on!

I am very interested to see how the Championship pans out.

My understanding is that Roger was always mindful of taking points off Scott, though of course Alex Summers won't be!

I wouldn't bet against Scott winning a sixth title. It should be close this year, but I say that at the beginning of every season.

The "noise" situation was a joke, I agree, sadly the long delay was not.

On a lighter note, I have told Roy [ Standley ] I intend to get my record back from him wink

Your 996 was certainly going well! It sounded great too.

Agreed about the hold up. Glad to have read that he's stable in hospital.

I'm very pleased to hear that as I wasn't aware of how he is doing.
