After some ideas as to where you would mount one on a club level classic GT, on the rear of the roll cage so visible though very large rear screen or lower rear body work?

We use the standard fog lights in tear lamp clusters. TVR Griff. Old MGB was mounted on top cage so visible through rear window. Never had an issue with either.

Made up alloy angled 'box' that stuck to rear screen of my B racers.Box stopped light from being visible inside of car-very annoying in the night.

So tbough the rear screen sounds the easiest approach, don't suppose reflection off the rear screen would be a problem in daylight?

As long as the lamp is touching the screen-no problem.

The "clarified" MSA regs that say

All vehicles must be equipped with a pair of brake lights equally disposed about the vehicle centreline, on the same horizontal plane with a minimum of 300mm between them and which are directly operated by the braking system

What exactly is "the vehicle centreline"

Think they mean equally spaced from the centreline lengthwise along the vehicle. Cant find any mention of rain lights positioning or even requirement, but going to fit anyway as a good idea.

If a vehical is 600cm wide its 300cm.
On my B, fia racer, I mounted it level with the bottom rear screen. That was to keep the light out any heavey spray.

Thanks - a porsche should be fine then.
Re rain light - it is a MSA regulation and I believe it has to be a FIA approved LED rain light ?

Woof, is someone muddling up rain light ( singular, you only need one) and brake lights?

Will you be doing a late do or die effort on me this weekend like last year's Snetterton.?

Correct-dont bother with DT, would recommend RS Components near Rockingham.Lights, switches, wiring-they do the lot at very reasonable prices.

I have the light and switch already and the fittings not an issue, was merely getting a consensus on where it should be mounted.

Well hopefully you'll be way behind me at that stage in the race wink but I'm not even sure we're running yet. Testing on Friday, hoping that all the problems will be sorted with a few new parts but if not it's back to the drawing board and won't be running on Saturday.

Fingers crossed though. I'm really keen to be able to go out and know the car will make it to the end of lap !
