Watched the first part on Motors TV earlier. Very nice selection of cars and a full grid.

When the Lotus was stopped on track with no lights on and on fire I think that the CoC acted very slowly. They should have brought the safety car and fire truck out a lot, lot quicker.

I would go as far as to say that the officials should be looked at by the MSA for the very poor response to this incident.
I think that's probably little unfair, having been stood on the bank above I saw the car come to a stop, it wasn't actually clear it was on fire for a while but the safety car was on track before I realised it was on fire (I was stood in front from the direction the marshals were running). It took a long time for the safety car to get to the scene but that was I guess because it was going slowly to back up the field as quickly as it could. I spoke with the marshals after and apparently they are not allowed track side until all the cars are behind the safety car due to an incident at a britcar meeting. Although the fire tuck seemed to have a long way to travel, and it was only a small van with fire extinguishers in the back, that I think needs looking at. Even Mallory park has a 'proper' fire car with a large tank in the back, that just looked like postman pat had turned up!!!!

This was a great weekend. Our entry took down two BMW Compacts from the Scottish BMW Compact Championship and six drivers who normally compete against each other. The entry was made in the spirit of supporting Mission Motorsport rather than with any expectations of winning and the master plan was to do as best as possible and enjoy the experience. Only one of the six drivers has ever done an endurance race before so it was a steep learning curve for everyone. Being in the car for nearly an hour at a time was somewhat longer than the twenty minutes normally spent hurtling round Knockhill!

The cars ended up 25th and 26th which was quite an achievement. Even more satisfying was that apart from a couple of minor excursions onto the grass there were no mishaps and the Beemers proved 100% reliable. This was despite that on the Sunday in particular the weather was absolutely atrocious. At one time standing on the pit wall it was raining so hard it actually hurt!

Would everyone do it again? In a heartbeat. Already planning next years trip South :-)

Caught this on Motors TV last night, what a great grid. Love the Honda Jazz! Damn shame about the weather though... looked bloody awful.

I'll write up some bits of our weeked, a combined Shorsec Racing & Mission Motorsport entry with 2 Toyota GT86 factory cars.

Still recovering. Best weekend of my life.

Love this shot of me finishing my night stint.

It did look a little odd, is it a K20 conversion?

I only happened across this on Motors TV when flicking other than that i cant say its come up on my radar. Its a shame the likes of ITV4 dont cover it for a wider audience. I totally missed the PH article and only found it while browsing the internet trying to find about what i was watching!

Here's the film that Toyota had made over the weekend about our team and the wider Mission Motorsport team and work.

I'm utterly bowled over.

A photographer at the event got some incredible photos and gave them away for free as it was a charity race.

Here's the ones of me driving:

Here's some more pics of the winged beast in the others drivers hands and some shots of the other MX5 our team entered:

We did the race in a Green Elise, I wonder are there any photos of us ?

It was a great event and very tough. I've been racing and rallying since 1977 and this was the wettest, windiest event ever, good fun though and a great cause.
