So I understand that hans is compulsory for 2016 and the standard systems require a modification from Arch and potentially the swap out of the caterham 3 inch belts for 2 inch!

I have just bought a car to compete next season and having looked into the details I think the simpson hybrid offers an alternative? Can anyone confirm:

1. the simpson hybrid is compliant as a FHR for 2016
2. these work in a caterham with full cage without modification
3. The caterham 3inch luke harnesses are compatible

Greatly appreciate any thoughts

You dont need hans specific 2 to 3 inch belts hans is certified for 3 inch belts

What you cantt do is use hans 2-3 inch belts without hans

in the end I bought a car that was raced in graduates a couple of years ago, its a 2006 (ran in the 2007 academy) k 1.6 so will be racing in supers. I have bought the simpson so will let you know how I get on.

The car has new belts, extinguisher, fly screen, full cage, spare wheels and a few spares and I got a good deal on a trailer too. Its also got an MOT and is taxed and mot'd so I can have a play on the rd smile

I was at beford today for the 1st time and car seems pretty good however I'm sure macmillan will need to have a look at it prior next season.

Very excited....long time to wait!

The MSA are making FHR mandatory in almost all forms of circuit racing in 2016, so the Graduates have to follow. Yes, a Simpson Hybrid is fine, yes it works with a cage and yes, 3" belts are fine.

Disclaimer: I work for HANS Performance Products, inventors and marketers of the HANS device Frontal Head Restraint. Thank you for the opportunity of posting in this forum.

I see the question has been answered so allow me to repeat - many models of the Simpson Hybrid FHR are FIA approved. Here is a link to the webpage with Hybrid FHR's. http://simpsonraceproducts.com/shop-by-product/hea...

If you have any questions about FHRs or cockpit safety it would be my pleasure to help.

Thank you,
