Anything short oval based would surely be the cheapest, if you don't mind only turning one way. Yearly license at something like £50-70 then either free to race or minimal cost (£15 or so). Not for everyone though.

The rejuvenation of grassroots motorsport over in America (and the knock on effect into WRL, SCCA, NSA etc of drivers + capable mechanics) should be inspiration enough to the MSA.

It's a lot easier for Autograss/Lawnmowers/ScooterEndurances and even karting to innovate and grow purely because it can operate outside the MSA.

To put it into context.

I would be able to fly to the states + travel to the circuit, do the raceschool in the morning, rent equipment and drive for a team in a 12hr Chumpcar race and get home for less than renting a seat in a 6hr Funcup Race (and Funcup's the best bang for buck long enduro's we have)

The fact that there isn't a single overbearing governing authority probably helps a lot. But you're completely correct.

Jonathan Palmers Motor Sport Vision (MSV) company has now bought a controlling / lease interest in a circuit in Laon France and is due to open in 2018.
With over 1200acres, the new site could offer potential, especially if restrictions are less stringent?
