Some tabloid pictures here of a huge crash at Brands in Alfa GTV.
It looks strange to see the drivers head so far out the window what could allow this to happen?
EG broken seat mounts or lose seat belts maybe dont see how else the drivers head could move that much.

Glad to hear the driver was ok, av nasty looking shunt, I will be fitting a window net to my racing saloon.

MSA do seem to be more obsessed by silly rules like whether a harness is in date....than if the harness/seat etc is correctly installed. You know...important safety things.

The competitor needs to make sure that the basic safety equipment is correctly installed, the MSA can only dictate on the standards. Scrutineers can only do a basic check within the time allowed. This sort of incident will get a review, and may result in further changes over time..

Seat mounts broke/moved unfortunately - Andrew was a passenger from the moment he hit the other car and was launched. Very lucky - but we were all relived to see him walking around the paddock later.
