Getting my race car back 10th of September, much later than I had intended but hoping to get my first ever race in what remains of the 2016 season.

So rookie driver and completely unproven car, a 1977 TVR 3000m and very late in the season but determined to get at least one race in this year.

The choices are:

750 MC Classic Inter-series at Donnington Park GP on 1-2 October (2 x 18 mins races).

CSCC Swinging 60s, if they would have me with a 1970s car, or their Open Series, both at Oulton Park on 15th October. The open series race is 40 minutes into the sunset with pitstop.

HSCC 70S Roadsports Silverstone Nat Circuit 15th - 16th Oct, car may not be eligible as has perspex widows and no interior.

Any advice or considerations, or most importantly of all any series I haven't considered?

The HSCC 70's Roadsports series has an invitation class for cars that don't quite meet the regs. I race my car in the invitation class, it doesn't have an interior. Perspex windows are fine in the regs.

The HSCC Walter Hayes trophy is also at Silverstone 2 weeks after the finals and usually has an all comers race.

I can highly recommend 70's Roadsports.

CSCC for me also, really friendly paddock, great value racing. Top notch peeps in the office, what's not to like

Another vote for CSCC - you may accuse me of bias as I'm one of their commentators, but it really is the friendliest and post positively-run club I've had the pleasure to work with in UK motorsport. (I've just got back from one of their meetings at Donington actually.)

If I was choosing, I'd go for the circuit and format that suited me best rather than the choice of organiser.
